The proposed well locations are unzoned public park land. The water treatment plant and public works facility will be located in the City's P-S (public service) Zone, in an area designated for planned uses in the City's General Plan. The plant site is currently used for parking and vehicle storage associated with public works services.

                Document Description

A new water well is proposed to be developed near Santa Monica Boulevard & Canon Drive. This well would replace one developed on Burton Way (median) near Oakhurst Drive, which was found to have water unsuitable for the Groundwater Project. The Groundwater Project as approved in 1998 is the development and operation of four water wells, a water treatment plant, and pipelines connecting these facilities to each other and to the City's water distribution system. Only the wells have been developed at this point in time.
