Document Description
The City of West Sacramento proposes to install a gravity flow sanitary sewer system of sewer mains in the existing streets and connect them to a new 12 inch main line (to be installed by others) near the intersection of Manchester Street with Jefferson Blvd., which would deliver the wastewater to the Southport pump station and then on to the city's sewage treatment plant. Sewer laterals would be stubbed to each existing property line. Individual property owners would install service lines to the lateral at the street edge from their house. Then the septic tank on each lot would then be pumped, abandoned and filled, under the direction of each property owner, in accordance with regulations of the Yolo County Division of Environmental Health. This is anticipated to involve filling of earth into the previously excavated septic tank with material compatible with the natural features of the site. The project will result in the trenching and repaving of the existing street to install approximatley 8,047 linear feet of eight inch sewer main and 5,425 linear feet of four inch sewer lateral from the main to the property line. Also included will be 217 sewer clean outs and 21 sewer manholes. Installation of four inch service line from the clean out to each house will result in the removal of some mature landscaping which will be replaced with equivalent material in the same or nearby location.
