                Document Description
            
            Department of Parks and Recreation proposes to seasonally install, operate, and remove a dam on the Eel River at Benbow Dam State Recreation Area from 2003 through 2007.  Installation of the dam will create a 1,060-acre feet reservoir, with a surface area of approx. 123 acres When full, the impoundment will extend upstream approx. 1.3 miles from the dam.  The dam will be installed annually, no earlier than June 15, and removed no later than September 15 each year.
