                Document Description

The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2008-0170-R2 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Three Rivers Levee Improvement Authority.
The Waterside Blanket Repair Project (WBRP) involves extending the currently planned waterside blanket being constructed as part of the larger Feather River Levee Repair Project an additional 40 feet to approximately 20 feet below the waterside toe of the levee. The proposed project involves installation of a 40 foot by 1,000 linear foot clay blanket along the existing Feather River levee from project engineering station (STA) 85+00 to STA 95+00. The distance between the stations is 1,000 linear feet. The blanket will extend across part of a maintenance road that runs along the waterside toe of the levee. In addition, the WBRP will require a 20 foot temporary construction easement, 10 feet of which extends below the proposed waterside blanket from STA-85+00 to STA 95+00 along the existing maintenance road for construction access and staging. The total project area, including the entire waterside blanket extension and temporary construction easement, is approximately 1.15 acres (1,000 linear feet by 50 feet). This is also the total impact area. To construct the waterside blanket extension, existing soil will be removed to a depth of approximately 5 feet below existing grade for an approximate total of 10,000 cubic yards to be excavated. The area will then be backfilled with approximately 10,000 cubic yards of imported clay fill material.
