The project is a amendment to the Clairemont Mesa Community Plan and rezone to facilitate the redevelopment of the County of San Diego Crime Lab property into affordable housing units. The proposed amendment would change the site's land use deignation from Commerial to Residential High to allow for redevelopment of the site for up to 454 multi-family units, of which at least 50 percent will be affordable. In addition, a 10,000 square foot retail component could also be permitted under the amendment.
