Document Description
The purpose of this Project is to maximize water use efficiency, restore wetland acreage within the wildlife area, and improve wetland resources for migratory and resident bird species. Project components include: replacing dilapidated CMP risers and pipes used for wetland management, refurbishing existing perimeter levees, establishing a new water delivery system to more efficiently supply managed wetlands, filling existing borrow ditches excavated during past construction of perimeter levees, reconfiguring existing managed wetland units increase the quantity of flooded wetlands, and restoring historic wetland acreage through the creation of a series of swales and potholes.
