Recology Hay Road Landfill Conditional Use Permit amendment No. 2

Description

The project would expand the landfill disposal area to include an additional 24-acre area located within the project site. This would increase the landfill's total disposal capacity by approximately 8.8. million cubic yards and extend the estimated life of the landfill by at least 5 years. The landfill's existing groundwater and landfill gas monitoring network, as well as its leachate collection system, would also be modified to include the additional disposal area. The CUP would also be amended to allow for a peak day limit of 3,400 tons per day with a seven-day average limit of 3,200 tpd of disposal; additional of construction and demolition sorting line, temporary on-site storage of baled single stream recyclables (up to approx.. 3,680 bales), disposal of friable asbestos within additional areas of landfill, and deepening of the existing soil borrow pit.
